Mardi Gras begins

Tonight, the 2007 Mardi Gras season kicks off with the Krewe du Vieux parade. My officemate Jessica is having a potluck supper at her place at 5:00, then we'll all head into the Marigny to watch the parade which starts at 7:00. Despite the fact that it will only get up to about 49 degrees today, I am going. I'll put my fleece blanket on my legs, I'll wear a heavy sweater over a thick T-shirt and cover all that with a crocheted poncho, and Jessica has said I can borrow a down comforter, too. There should be pics galore from Sarah, so I'll post when I can.

I hope you had fun! You are SO brave to live in the deadliest city in the US! I don't think I could do it, cuz I am super paranoid these days!

Not only do I live in the deadliest city, but I was in one of the deadliest parts of the city last night -- the Bywater. One of my officemates lives there, and we walked from her house to a BBQ place a few blocks away. Travel in packs -- that's the key.
